Final tally - skied every day!  Lincoln Gap again on Sat and then Bald Hill corn snow on Sunday. Great week and each day I brought a bit of Tony along with me.

Midweek update -  Been out every day starting Saturday in Underhill! So far Ballroom at Dewey, Lincoln Gap ski, Lincoln Gap Fatbike, Nebraska Valley ski, Bald Hill hike (bullet proof) with skis, and Camels Hump XC. Hoping to go further afeild this weekend toward Randolph.

I've been an avid back country skier since the 80's and a few years ago when my go-to ski buddy Tony Amenta asked me to serve on the CTA Board with him I jumped at the chance. Tony was a great skier and one of the most generous people I've ever known. He was always donating his time for building and maitaining trials and zones across central Vermont and served on several of the CTA committees. Unfortunately Tony passed away last fall and he is sorely missed. 

My goal is to get out and ski every day that week somewhere on the trail or one of our back country zones and bring along his memory with me so he can be there too.

The Vermont Backcountry Challenge is an opportunity to give back to the backcountry community here in Vermont. The CTA has spent the last 35+ years working to protect our wild spaces, make possible amazing outdoor winter experiences, and expand access to the outdoors for all communities. This work enhances the lives of every person in Vermont and is a large part of why Vermont is such a wonderful place to spend time. 

​It's for these reasons, and more, we need you to get involved, to fundraise, to donate, and to challenge yourself. Because when we work together amazing things happen!
