This winter I am hoping to raise $1000 for the Catamount Trail Association (CTA) and its Chapters. The CTA does a lot of important work including development and maintenance of ski trails and backcounty zones, protecting our mountain lands for all to use, and working to increase access to the outdoors through free tours, low cost events, and our Ski Cubs Youth Program.
As part of this effort I will be challenging myself to skin 20,000 feet on a single day during the challenge week (Feb 29-Mar 8). If I'm to successfully complete this challenge, and I'm not sure I can, I will need to skin and ski 40+ miles. This isn't going to be easy for me, but I'm going to try.
I'm not going to ask you to ski 20,000 feet... But I do hope you will help me reach my fundraising goal by making a contribution to the CTA.
The Vermont Backcountry Challenge is an opportunity to give back to the backcountry community here in Vermont. The CTA has spent the last 35+ years working to protect our wild spaces, make possible amazing outdoor winter experiences, and expand access to the outdoors for all communities. This work enhances the lives of every person in Vermont and is a large part of why Vermont is such a wonderful place to spend time.
It's for these reasons, and more, we need you to get involved, to fundraise, to donate, and to challenge yourself. Because when we work together amazing things happen!
